Habitat:Highly eroded area of massive granitic boulders forming badland-type topographycut into broad alluvial fan, with a few outcrops rising above the genral surface of the bajada. Vegetation open scrub of Larrea tridentata, ambrosia dumosa, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Viguiera parishii, Atriplex polycarpa, Menodora spinescens, Encelia farinosa, Hymenoclea salsola, Acadia greggii, and Perityle emoryi; rich display of annuals, especially Boraginaceae (e.g., Amsinckia tesselata, Cryptantha micrantha, Cryptantha circumscissa, Cryptantha pterocarya, Cryptantha maritima, Cryptantha angustifolia, Pectocarya recurvata, Pectocarya hetrocarpa, Pectocarya platycarpa), Malacothrix glabrata, Eriophyllum wallacei, Eriophyllum pringlei, Phacelia distans, Phacelia campanularia, Pholistoma, Vulpia octoflora, Schismus barbatus, Bromus trinii, Bromus rubens, Chaenactis spp., and Rafenesquia neomexicana.
